Macao Bahá’í Community to Host World Religion Day Celebration with Interfaith Art and Dialogue

MACAU,6 January 2026 – The Macao Bahá’í Community invites all residents to a special celebration of World Religion Day on Saturday, 17 January 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the School of the Nations. The event will bring together representatives from Macao’s major religious communities and the general public for a day dedicated to unity, dialogue, and shared reflection through the universal language of art.

This year’s celebration will use diverse artistic expressions to engage participants in exploring three interconnected themes relevant to all: Work and Wealth, Education and Excellence, and Religion and Development. The event is designed to be a welcoming space to build friendships, engage in meaningful conversations, and personally reflect on these universal aspects of life.

A rich program of activities for all ages will be offered, including:

  • The interfaith arts exhibition “Silent Radiance of Unity – Macao in Harmony.”
  • “The Tao of Conversation”discussion salon.
  • Interactive workshops on Chinese painting, abstract art, and calligraphy.
  • Creative craft stations for children.
  • Musical performances.

“We see the arts as vital tools for profound discourse,” said a spokesperson for the organizing committee. “They transcend cold rational debate, speak directly to the human heart, and reach across cultural, educational, or linguistic boundaries. Through visual, musical, and creative forms, we can make spiritual principles, like the oneness of humanity, tangible and accessible to everyone.”

Background on World Religion Day:
World Religion Day is observed annually on the third Sunday of January to promote interfaith understanding and harmony. First initiated in 1950 by the Bahá’í community in the United States, inspired by the principle of the oneness of religion, it is now marked worldwide by diverse religious and educational institutions. The day serves as a global reminder of the potential for all religions to contribute collectively to a more peaceful and harmonious world.
